Hyderabad State Buses – Nizam State Rail & Road Transport Department

Nizam State Roadways of erstwhile Hyderabad State started in the year 1932.

It got started as a separate wing of NSR-RTD (Nizam State Rail and Road Transport Department) in the year 1932 with 27 buses and 166 employees.

Some of the existing Nizam State buses are called as ‘Deccan Queen’.

It is beleived that there is an agreement between the last Nizam Osman Ali Khan and Indian Goverment to include letter ‘Z’ in every bus of state road transport registration number. Eg. AP 11 Z, AP 09 Z, etc.
