
Pillalamari is a 800 years old banyan tree located at a distance of 4kms from Mahabubnagar tow (Palamuru)n. It is one of the major tourist attractions in Mahabubnagar and known tourist spot of Telangana. Pillalamarri is an ideal place to have a family picnic.
Pillalamari is a perfect example of nature being a magician. One can find a Banyan tree grown into multiple branches which looks like a green umbrella and this great tree is spread over 3 acres of area. It can accommodate about 1000 people under its shelter. Pillalamarri name has two parts: “pillalu” means children and “marri” means banyan tree.It appears as a small hillock from distance
There is a tomb of Muslim saint under the tree. During rainy season boating facility is also provided. There is a small zoo, an aquarium and an archaeological museum near the banyan tree.
